Considering the current popularity of fandomstuck, I thought it might be a good idea to do up a condensed guide to shipping with quadrants. And even if you have no interest in fandomstuck, I know that quadrant shipping has certainly improved my enjoyment of fandoms across the board.

These are the quadrants as I’m best able to understand them in canon. If you have any corrections you’d like to make, feel free to message me, and I’ll consider editing a slide!

If you’d like to hear more about the quadrants from the author himself, consider checking out these mspa pages.

from your friendly neighborhood fandom blogger <3

Even if you are in the Homestuck fandom you should read this because this is the best explanation I’ve seen. Kismesis in particular, tend to be misunderstood, and this is a really good explanation of it.

Alternian Educationsystem

littlemisscodeless:

Schoolfeeding:
Wrigglers from are supplied with a selfstudy/homeschooling software that covers topics from grade one to six (reading, writing, ´rithmatic) as well as indoctrination, castelore. Study is enforced by the lusi. There are no grades or age restrictions, each wriggler studies at their own pace. (Or doesn´t, as in Gamzee´s case).
During this time, wrigglers are watched for special talents or abilities. (Such as Psionics)

Independent Study:
From the age of 7 sweeps, young trolls may apply for training at their chosen profession. They study alone now, and will be watched by the profession they applied for or the profession interested in their abilities.
The only influence young trolls really have over their future profession is showing either talents suited to it or independent work to develop skills needed therein. The interests of the empire are always put above the wishes of the young troll. Higher castes are always favored over lower.
(For example, Sollux could apply for training as a programmer till the moobeasts came home,  he´d still be made a Helmsman for his Psionics, whereas Terezi would have a very good chance at being accepted at the Academy of Alternian Law due to her independent study of law.)

Academy or Training:
From the age of 10 sweeps, trolls are assigned to either one of the Alternian Academies or training camps.

Academies:
The Alternian Imperial Academies are housed in an artificial planet. The largest and best funded is the Military Academy, followed by the Academy of Law, then Medicine, Sciences and Engineering and last Scolarities. (Humanities for trolls) It is possible to study at more than one academy at the same time.
Training Camps:
Training camps are for those conscripted to military service, but too lowblooded to be offered places at the Academy. Other training camps are Shipyards for Helmsmen and work-camps for manufacturing professions.

Subjuggulators:
Are the exception to the rules mentioned above. They are taken in and trained by their caste in monasterylike communities.

Check Your Privilege - Some Notes on Trollian Blood Colors

fir3h34rt:

Edit: I have deleted the individual descriptions of each blood color because after reviewing them, they seem to be rather stereotyping.  I’ll be working to fix these horrible generalzations.  Please don’t think ill of me just because my stupid little brain doesn’t fully comprehend the inner workings of the hemospectrum.  I am in no ways an expert on Homestuck nor do I claim to be.

I’ve been doing some research for the last couple weeks on blood colors that don’t pertain to the original 13 canon ones.  I created these notes in mind of the people who create fantrolls but have trouble with blood typing and don’t want to use the canon colors and would rather use a similar shade.  But by no means are my observations to be written in stone; its just a little side project I did to help myself since I was having my own troubles figuring out colors for blood.

The chart I created below categorizes the canon bloods as well as the non-canon ones I’ve created.  The descriptions of each non-canon color are my own personal ideas.  They are meant to be a guide for those who want to create fantrolls but can be changed to suit the needs of the artist.  *Click the image for a larger view.  I’ve uploaded it to my DeviantArt
